Embracing the Choice – The Power of Releasing the Outcome

Hello Friends,

Have you ever found yourself circling a decision, not because you don’t know what you want—but because you’re afraid of what might happen if you choose it?

Maybe you feared hurting someone. Or losing something. Or being wrong.
Maybe you were scared of where it might lead—or what it might mean if it didn’t work out.

I’ve been there too. Many times, I’ve felt stuck.

Sometimes I’ve stayed stuck, not because I didn’t have a preference, but because I was trying to figure out which path could guarantee the result I wanted. And other times, I’ve made a choice not because it felt aligned—but because I hoped it would lead to a certain outcome.

It rarely works out the way I expect it to.

Because the truth is, we don’t get to choose outcomes.
We only get to choose our choice.
And whether we’re choosing from a place of fear—or from alignment.

When we make decisions based on what we hope might happen, we’re often bypassing the present in an attempt to control the future.
When we choose based on what we hope won’t happen, we’re often trying to protect ourselves from discomfort or regret.

But either way, we’re outsourcing our power to something we can’t actually control.

Of course, it’s okay to hope.
But when we grip too tightly to our hopes, we close ourselves off to what’s actually unfolding—and sometimes, the unfolding brings us something even better than we imagined, just not in the way we expected.

Letting go of outcomes doesn’t mean we stop caring. It just means we learn to care more about how we show up than how it all plays out.
And when we make a choice that aligns with our values—even if it’s scary, even if we don’t know what’s next—we usually feel more grounded in our decision, regardless of the result.

A few gentle reminders if you’re facing a hard decision:

  • You don’t need certainty to move forward. You just need clarity about what feels most aligned right now. And aligned doesn’t always mean easy—it means in integrity with what matters most to you.

  • It’s okay to want things to go a certain way. But don’t let that desire override your own knowing. Your inner knowing often shows up as quiet clarity—not as a guarantee of success, but as a gentle pull toward the next step, even if it’s tender.

  • If fear is loud, get curious. Are you trying to avoid discomfort—or is something about this path actually out of alignment? Sometimes fear is a protector, not a compass. Ask what it’s trying to keep you safe from—and whether that fear is based in truth or an old story.

  • Ask: What choice reflects the kind of person I want to be, and the values I want to live by? Let your values—not your fears—set the tone for how you move forward.

  • Ask: Will I be proud of this choice, even if it doesn’t lead where I hope? This question can shift you from chasing results to honouring your process.

  • Let hope be part of the process—not the compass. It’s okay to hold hope lightly in one hand—just don’t let it steer the whole ship. Make your choice, then release the timeline, the shape, and the ‘how’ it’s all supposed to unfold.

You don’t have to make the perfect choice. There is no perfect choice.
Just the next aligned one.

And then, trust that what’s meant for you will meet you there.

With heartfelt gratitude,
Christina
